Freelance photographer Rob Huibers (born 1952, in Utrecht) is the is the webmaster and designer of www.photo.nl. He works for newspapers and magazines in northwestern Europe, notably for the Dutch daily newspaper Trouw, the weeklies Intermediair and the Groene Amsterdammer and for Klik, the Dutch monthly on the care for mentally retarded people. He photographs news, feature subjects, landscapes and people on 35 mm and 6x7. In recent years, he has visited Afghanistan, Haiti, West Papua and Sierra Leone and spent six months in a Dutch hospital to make a photo documentary called "For My Own Good", a book in which the hospital is seen from the patient's point of view. In the 1980s, Huibers taught photojournalism at the Dutch School of Journalism in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
